It’s widely accepted that the average person living in the UK uses 140-150 litres of water per day. This might not seem like much at first, but considering the population is estimated to be 67.1 million, it’s easy to see why saving water is such an important issue.
The question is, what can we all do to change this?
Luckily, there’s a few options available to help:
Changing habits; turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, taking shorter showers, letting the rain water your lawn, filling the kettle up to the needed amount and using a watering can instead of a hose.
Opting for water saving devices; use the eco setting on your washing machine or dishwasher, consider installing non concussive taps and water saving taps, choosing a low-flush or dual-flush toilet or fitting a variable flush device to your current one and investing in an eco-shower head or flow regulator.
These are only a few suggestions to help and the main thing is not how you choose to save water, but the fact that you’re doing your part to help.
